LAKE NACIMIENTO, Calif. - Smoke may be visible in northern San Luis Obispo County Wednesday.

CAL FIRE SLO said firefighters were burning more than 300 piles of dead brush and vegetation in the Oak Shores community near Lake Nacimiento.

Firefighters said people would likely see smoke in the area of Lake Nacimiento North Shore.

The burns are designed to reduce the risk of future wildfires by getting rid of dry and flammable brush.
