But it is exploring the lake, and it's many coves, that really make it special. Depending on the water level of the lake, East Beach cove creates a beach that feeds our dock. Wineries; The house is a quick 15 mile drive to the 'Paso Wine Country'. A perfect way to spend the day, driving through the Oak lined, sleepy roads to the many wineries that dot the countryside. Often noted in Wine Spectator, there are world class wineries to seek out. Be it Justin, Turley, Tablas Creek (our favorite), or any of the other 200 wineries to visit, you will have plenty to choose from. Most are open year round, 7 days a week. It is not uncommon to meet either the owner and/or the wine maker when you visit them. Golf; Hunter Ranch Golf Club is one of the Central Coast's best golf courses. Day Trips; Hearst Castle is under two hours away on the coast, with the little 'artsey' town of Cambria just before it.
